Set against an evocative backdrop of the Agafay desert, Saint Laurent carved out the essence of tranquility through their latest archetypal Spring-Summer 2023 Men’s Collection. Echoing juxtapositions of hope and mystery, the tuxedos and statement pieces once again get reinterpreted, refined, and imbued with possibility – taking subtle references from previous Womenswear Collections. This space became the focal point for Anthony Vaccarello, in collaboration with artist Es Devlin, to celebrate the shared affinity that encapsulates Marrakech.

Among a vast roster of eminent attendees was Chinese-American musician and heartthrob Mark Tuan. After quickly becoming an elected favorite for the luxury label – after his appearance at Saint Laurent’s Fall/Winter 2022 collection at Paris Fashion Week earlier in March – Tuan proceeded to Morocco where he was seated in the front row to support this years SS23 Collection debut. Tuan invited VMAN behind the scenes to give us a glimpse into his pre-show procedures, journey to the venue, and post-show indulgences.

“It was my first time in Morocco and I was blown away with everything! YSL prepared some gifts in my room and I loved them. I’m so grateful to be invited and a part of the family. I wasn’t so sure how I was going to fit everything in my luggage but I managed to pack everything!”

“On the way to the show! It took us about an hour and a half to get to the show. Had to take a quick selfie to share with my fans.”

Each rug has its own different meaning and I will be putting these to good use. Definitely putting one in my music studio!”
