Getting Ready: Dallas Liu Attends the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” Season 2 Premiere

The star brought his A-game to the red carpet, and VMAN has all the behind-the-scenes details
If you’ve been watching Netflix’s live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender, then you already know Dallas Liu. The 24-year-old actor stars as Prince Zuko and has quickly become a fan favorite. Before acting, though, Dallas was deeply involved in Shotokan karate, which he began practicing at age five. He competed internationally throughout his childhood, and those skills eventually led him to his first acting role. At just eight years old, he was cast as young Jin Kazama in Tekken (2009), launching a career that started with a kick. Pretty cool origin story, right?
Since then, he’s been building an impressive résumé. You might recognize him from Hulu’s PEN15, or maybe you caught him in Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). He even stepped into voice acting with the anime Sakamoto Days in 2025. But Avatar: The Last Airbender is where he’s really found a wider audience. Taking on Prince Zuko, one of the franchise’s most beloved characters, came with plenty of expectations, but Dallas Liu has quickly made the role his own. Now returning for Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2, he’s stepping back into the role at a pivotal moment in Zuko’s journey, with fans eager to see what comes next.
VMAN spent the afternoon with him as he got ready for the Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2 premiere!
