Giorgio Armani very well might have a sole trademark on luxurious evening wear. For over 40 years, the Italian powerhouse designer has introduced elegance in distinct forms for both men and women. At his Fall 2018 show during Milan Fashion Week Men's today, he chose to explore freedom of expression and a love of synthesis, exploring that same elegance of his classic suit pieces in a reimagined world.

On the runway, Armani brought out classic pieces that were given geometric and even athletic twists. Suit jackets were paired with loose jogger trousers that teeter the line between work and workout gear, while the soft velour fabrics plastered on formal pieces gave the range an indulgent feel. But the highlight of the collection is the jacket — or rather, the slew of different jackets:  eight-button, long coat, high-neck, all pulling attention to different parts of the male physique. For example, a classic grey eight-button jacket with peak lapels emphasizes the waist and shoulders. No matter the design, the collection as a whole is meant to be "luxurious but never showy ... soft to touch and opaque in appearance," enlisting darker, richer grey, brown, blue and red tones for a subtle yet rich appearance.

Giorgio Armani knows what they're good at, but their FW18 show proves that a little experimentation may not be a bad thing, and does nothing to clash with their signature craft. See for yourself in the slideshow below.
