Perhaps no designer is more committed to their homeland than Gosha Rubchinskiy. Rather than head to one of the major fashion metropolises for the usual Fashion Week to present his FW18 collection, the designer staged his third straight show in Russia, taking it to the far-out city of Yekaterinburg in the Ural region, where below-freezing temperatures and a mountainous landscape set the scene for an adventurous yet unifying show.

Gosha is especially known for his collaborations with fellow brands like Burberry and Adidas, and their influences are felt as classic tan checks and bold tracksuits are chopped-and-screwed to fit the designer's aesthetic. And it's this seamless flow with his motifs that makes this collection feel like his most individual and distinct. His hometown stamp is its other distinguishing factor, as Gosha patches his native Russian flag with those of the US and Japan in an ironic twist considering the political climate.
