If there’s any project Harry Styles is involved in, we're all over it. After becoming the official face of Gucci in 2019, Styles has been styled by Gucci’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michelle, for fashion films, red carpets, and live performances. This time, the duo is taking things to a new level, collaborating on a new collection that represents their long-standing friendship and creative relationship.

Gucci HA HA HA represents this friendship and the journey the two have endured, full of exchanges of ideas, perspectives, and dedication toward one another. The title melds together the initials of Harry and Alessandro but also nods to the sound of the “laughing face” emoji that the two always sign off their texts with.

Gucci HA HA HA is a playful collection designed to act as a herald of new visions of beauty, crafted with liberating elements that eliminate the ritual complexities. It comes as no surprise as Harry is known for rejecting masculine stereotypes, that the collection is a playful take on traditional menswear. After working together for many years, the two decided they needed to create a dream wardrobe, inspired by the aesthetics of 1970s pop mixed with bohemia, to reimagine gentlemanly elements of traditional English tailoring.

“Harry has an incredible sense of fashion. Observing his ability to combine items of clothing in a way that is out of the ordinary compared to the required standards of taste and common sense and the homogenization of appearance, I came to understand that the styling of a look is a generator of differences and of powers, as are his reactions to the designs I have created for him, which he has always made his own.”

It was important to the duo that they honored historical silhouettes in a modern development which is why they added playful elements such as printed pajamas, bowling shirts, coats with frog fasteners, and pleated kilts. Typical menswear pieces got an upgrade with treated denim jackets, cherry-printed blazers, and brightly checkered suits. A nod to Harry’s British roots, the eccentric use of the Prince of Wales check is used to create double-breasted coats, complete with mother-of-pearl buttons on shirts.

Jackets, coats, pants, shirts, and accessories manifest a novel emotive passage able to construct a study on a surprising take on masculine elegance with clothes that declare their love both for the materials and for the historical significance of their forms. The collection is set to drop in October and will be available on Gucci's official website as well as select Gucci retailers.
