In a new collection from Henrik Vibskov, aptly titled “Everything Cracks Eventually – I’ll be gentle”, the designer took inspiration from his previous project called “The Bank Is Dead,” which was created in New York, and tells a story of protection. Through protection, the options are often armor and defense or choosing softness as the strength, which is what Vibskov leans into. The runway is transformed to feature a somewhat futuristic landscape, featuring black eggs that appear to be from a different world.

Utilizing an overall message conveyed through eggs, a play on the word protection to “prot-egg-tion” exemplifies how fragile and tender we are. Clothing from the collection is meant to symbolize the protective cases that hold beloved items. Featuring case shirts and suit cover coats to double-bass dresses, inspired by vessels for safekeeping, the prints of the collection featured woven jacquards that depict fierce mother hens and their fragile eggs, and entangled root vegetables that reference the life of soil we as humans need to keep safe.

Vibskov’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection tells the story of promising to protect what we have and know, but also what we are still unsure of. Taking care of the fragile eggs is humanity doing its part in safeguarding potential life for an unknown future. Everything from the set design has been repurposed and up-cycled from past performances and exhibitions in New York and Guangzhou, with the intention of that to continue with items used in this show as well.
