Heron Preston and BAPE have come together for a capsule collection that reimagines streetwear through melding a quintessential Japanese aesthetic with American hip-hop icons.

Pharrell Williams, The Clipse and Kanye West were some of the first to wear the brand's emblematic designs outside of Japan. “Growing up through the era of NIGO and BAPE®,  I was observing and absorbing the energy and taste levels he was introducing into streetwear. He had this  special touch,” Preston reflected regarding his early memories of the brand.

Sticking with his typical approach to design, Preston adds to the BAPE archives including their Shark Hoodies, BAPE Camo, the APE HEAD logo and the BAPESTA sneaker. Graphic t-shirts pay homage to screen-printed designs of the late 90s with the heads donning the neckline of the shirt.

Workwear uniforms are explored through a jacket and utility pants that successfully bridge the two brands, with the iconic BAPE camo in yellow and purple meeting words like “Ape Shall Never Kill Ape." The sets embody a two tone effect while pushing the boundaries of traditional uniformity. Also offered in a set is the Shark Hoodie, adorned by matching sweatpants. Both are printed with BAPE's famous STA.

Preston reworked the BAPESTA sneaker in his signature orange, with a leather base and canvas accents that don a tonal BAPE camo. Each shoe is embellished with BAPE and Heron Preston labels. Accessories in the collection include collaborative zip bags and hang tags, each branded with Heron Preston’s signature orange label.

You can check out the capsule collection at heronpreston.com, bape.com, farfetch.com and in select BAPE stores worldwide.
