For most people, when they think of Boston, foreword-thinking fashion generally is not one of the things that come to mind (if you’re of a certain demographic like this writer, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon are more likely to come first). However, Jessica Knez and Joseph Morrissey, the duo behind the city’s exciting fashion concept boutique, All Too Human—or ATH, as the two call it—are looking to change that.
Located in Back Bay, just off of Newbury Street in the city’s trendy shopping district, ATH’s high-end and exquisitely curated approach to fashion is looking to shake things up, bringing the likes Delpozo, Raf Simons, Gosha Rubichinskiy, and J.W.Anderson to a city long know for its love of sweatpants and hoodies. Spread across three floors, the 2,500 square foot space has become a showroom for Knez and Morrissey’s keen eye for design, stocking some 25 leading designers at any one time. Indeed, the pair makes a habit of attending the international fashion show circuit and have cultivated close personal relationships with many of the designers they carry. Those relationships have, in turn, allowed them to be the exclusive retailers in Boston for exciting collaborations such as Raf Simon’s Robert Mapplethorpe-inspired Spring 2017 collection or Gosha Rubchinskiy’s partnership with Fila for the season.
In addition to the lines they carry, Knez and Morrissey often collaborate with well known visual artists and utilize their space to promote them. Toward the end of last year, they teamed up with Daniel Arsham to create an installation inspired by Boston Celtic jackets. On February 6, the pair will welcome artist Baron Von Fancy, who will be in store to sell pieces from his limited-edition collection with Prospect NY.
With ATH, not even a year old, the store—and the duo behind it—already look to be making a home run. (Which is more than you can say for the Red Sox!)
