J Cole Makes Debut in Basketball League and Releases New Album

American rapper is set to play for an African basketball team and releases latest album

Rapper J. Cole, who will be the new shooting guard for Patriots BBC, a Rwandan club in the Basketball Africa League, has just released his sixth album, “The Off-Season.” The album was released the same day Cole signed to the basketball team, ushering in his new projects together.

In a report from ESPN, after a three-year hiatus, Cole’s latest album’s second song titled “p u n c h i n ‘ . t h e . c l o c k.” includes audio from Portland Trail Blazers player Damian Lillard’s postgame interview after scoring 61 points in the NBA Bubble against the Dallas Mavericks.

Although Cole spent the past decade making music, he signed to the Rwandan club last Thursday and arrived last week to quarantining and play in the 12-team league. The Patriots has played in the first BAL game against Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers.
