In a report by Variety, singer John Mayer is close to having a deal with Paramount Plus to hos a talk show and performance series inspired by the BBC’s “Later with Jools Holland.”

The show would run weekly on Paramount Plus and is expected to have specials from the show’s performances air on CBS as well.

CBS has been interested in a show with Mayer since 2009 when a deal was close to being made.

Mayer has had his own show, “Current Mood,” on Instagram Live since 2018 and he’s guest hosted on CBS’s “The Late Late Show.” He also appeared in the final episode “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” Mayer has also appeared on “Chappelle’s Show” and has had over 140 million views on TikTok.
