Joji and Diplo Release New Single “Daylight”

“Sun’s up, I don’t really wanna fight the daylight.”

Joji partners with world-renowned producer Diplo on a new collaboration called “Daylight,” the latest single from his highly-anticipated album Nectar which comes out September 25 via 88rising.

“Daylight” showcases both Joji and Diplo’s bizarre sense of humor. In the vibrant and fun music video directed by Munachi Osegbu, the pair are seen working as studio assistants on the set of an elderly boyband’s video shoot. Ultimately, both musicians fail at their tasks and derail the entire shoot, getting on the director’s bad side.

Two years after the release of his #1 debut album Ballads 1, the singer is already making way for a new era of music. “Daylight” follows the singer’s Gold-certified single “Sanctuary,” and his Billboard Hot 100 song “Run.” The collaboration also follows his second single “Gimme Love,” which was released earlier this year.

Alongside the premiere of his latest single, Joji shared, “It might be nice for people to hear a song about daylight, especially when we don’t get as much of it as we used to.” Diplo also commented, “Joji is one of my favorite artists. I’m lucky he answered my text!”
