It seems we won't have to wait as long as we thought to see Justin Bieber perform live.

Originally scheduled to kick off June 2nd in San Diego and conclude August 15 in Sacramento, performances had been lined up in cities across the US and into his native, Canada. However, with current lockdowns and indoor capacity restrictions will not be lifted in time for summer performances. Fortunately for fans, Bieber has actually moved up his shows to February 2022 instead of summer 2022. The popstar announced new dates for his comeback summer tour via Instagram, now scheduled to kick off February 18 of next year and will conclude on June 24.

Alongside rescheduling the tour, Bieber also added seven arena shows to the lineup, including Jacksonville, Orlando, Cincinatti, Indianapolis, Des Moines, Austin and Uncasville. Tickets for the tour stops will be available to purchase later this month.

The “Peaches” singer booked tour dates into indoor arenas, including New York’s Madison Square Garden, meaning stricter COVID restrictions for guests and performers to abide by. From the looks of Bieber’s summer tour dates online, only 26 out of the 45 showdates have been rescheduled likely due to issues at some of the booked venues — many indoor venues are fully booked through 2022.

“In light of the current public health crisis, Justin Bieber announces his rescheduled 2021 World Tour dates below,” an announcement on Bieber’s website reads, revealing 19 new arena dates boldly added to the tour despite not a single performance having come to fruition. “Kehlani and Jaden Smith who were originally scheduled to support the tour will not be appearing on the new dates as new support will be added at a later date.”

Once his summer tour does kick off, Bieber will have plenty of new material to perform. It has been so long since tour tickets first went on sale that Bieber has already released another album in addition to his Changes album, released in February 2020. Tickets for new dates will go on sale Thursday, August 6 at 10 AM local time.
