As the coronavirus continues to spread across America, Kanye West is making the philanthropic decision to donate to several charities in his hometown of Chicago, all of which provide meals to those affected by the virus.

Among many of the organizations, West has donated to We Women Empowered, a charity organization led by Josephine “Mother” Wade that has diligently delivered three meals a day to elderly citizens in Chicago’s West Side along with general support to a population that can’t support themselves. Working in collaboration with Josephine’s Southern Cooking, a company offering a food delivery service with drivers equipped to to aid in health services to seniors, an alliance also formed by Wade.

“Today when I got that call, that Kanye West wanted to help the elderly in Chicago and he chose his hometown in the South Side, his old neighborhood, I was beyond words,” Wade said in response to Kanye’s donation. “And in one phone call, in an instant today, our world was changed.”

If you’re looking to support those affected, you can help by visiting We Women Empower, Josephine’s Southern Cooking, and The Dream Center.
