Kendrick Lamar is going to have to make room in his trophy case for yet another award, as the rapper has just been named this year's recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in Music for his Grammy-nominated album Damn. Lamar is the first winner of his kind, as the award typically goes to jazz or classical composers. His impact on the hip-hop community is vast, creating trailblazing work centric to the experiences of black Americans and his life in Compton. His voice has been a constant amplifier for his peers, projecting the message of experience as an African-American man. Though only 30, the rapper has already earned 11 Grammys, a testament to the excellence Lamar exudes.

Congratulations to Kendrick, and we can't wait to see what glass ceiling he bursts through next. Revisit his first VMAN spread here.
