The Paris Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2019 Men's shows have officially been one for the books. A heightened sense of anticipation was the name of the game for the season supported by the shift in LVMH leadership, as well as a number of brands leaving the platform in support of a co-ed showing. One of this year's most exciting announcements was the news that designer Kim Jones had accepted the position as creative director of Dior Homme. For his debut collection with the fashion house, Jones has crafted a confident lineup of beautifully tailored luxury wear with Jones' magic touch emblazoned and beaming in every seam.

In true romantic fashion, Jones has set his debut in an extravagantly elegant bouquet of blush peonies on a crisp white runway. Using light, soft hues of pink, blue, tan, and white, Jones makes a victorious gesture of how to execute graceful menswear that doesn't brim or walk the line of neutral wear. Honing in on his keen ability as a designer to shape garments that loudly live in an ensemble, here more than ever one can't deny the detailed voice Jones is setting as the tone for his era at Dior.

Allowing for the narrative of his inaugural Dior moment come full circle for Spring 2019, Jones intelligently implements mild saturation and textured prints. A stunning range of jackets over a diverse spectrum of multi-length shorts are the base of this collection; a classic indication of Jones surpassing trend and creating modern motion in the world of men's fashion.

The cliché and stigma surrounding first impressions is something that both industry and consumers alike latch onto when offering themselves to brand. Kim Jones has re-established Dior Homme, celebrating the Parisian staple by fearlessly elevating the definition of menswear for the iconic house. Bravo, Kim Jones! Bravo!
