Kris Van Assche has been named Artistic Director for Berluti, solidifying rumors of the designer remaining within the LVMH empire. After stepping down from his 11-year reign at the helm of Dior Homme, the Belgian designer will show his first collection for Berluti during Paris Men's Fashion Week in January 2019. While working on his debut, Van Assche will have time to see how his successor at Dior, Kim Jones, will handle his first collection.

“I have always wanted to build bridges between the savoir-faire, the heritage of a house, and my clear-cut contemporary vision," Van Assche said of his new job. "Antoine Arnault spoke to me of his ambitions for Berluti, and it is with great pleasure that I accept this new challenge which fits perfectly with my own will and vision."

Van Assche will take over for Haider Ackermann, who spent only three seasons with Berluti. Following his departure, Ackermann told WWD, “I am immensely proud to have been able to put my creativity at the service of this house with an exceptional knowhow, while working with a passionate team. I thank them for their commitment."
