Kygo drops Donna Summer remix track and video for “Hot Stuff”

The video stars Outer Banks breakouts, Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes

Norwegian DJ Kygo just dropped his new remix to the iconic Donna Summer song Hot Stuff. The song was Summer’s second number single when it was released in 1979 and won the inaugural Grammy award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance.

This is the 29-year-old DJ’s third time releasing a remix for a female dance classic. His remix of Whitney Houston’s Higher Love from last year was an international chart success, and he recently released his version of Tina Turner’s What’s Love Got to Do With It. The remix turns an already extremely danceable tune into a club banger.

In a statement about the song, the DJ said, “Donna Summer is one of my favorite artists of all time. Her catalogue of music is brilliant and her vocals are unmatched. I am honored and humbled to get to work on an iconic track like “Hot Stuff”. This has always been one of those songs that instantly puts me in a good mood and I hope that this version can continue to bring joy and happiness to people who want to celebrate the legendary Donna Summer.”

The song’s music video was released with it, featuring some familiar faces. The Bo Webb directed video stars Outer Banks stars Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes. The two returned to the Outer Banks for the video, which was shot completely in Carolina Beach. The video mainly features the reel-to-real life couple dancing with each other and getting romantic in an abandoned bar-turned-disco.
