Lanvin Launches New Skate Sneaker With Short Film

The untitled short film by RAYSCORRUPTEDMIND and Evan Mock was launched with the sneaker.

French luxury fashion house Lanvin launches its new Curb sneakers, a millennial, skate-inspired shoe, with an editorial short film by RAYSCORRUPTEDMIND and Evan Mock.

In a documentary-esque “day in the life” film shot in New York, photographer Rayscorruptedmind and skateboarding model Evan Mock show off Lanvin’s latest cult sneaker: fluid, enduring, bold, and fresh.

“For years skate culture influenced almost everybody, so it’s pretty sick that it is getting more attention in fashion, which I love,” said Ray. “The vibe I was trying to capture was just real lifestyle feelings.”

The untitled film, clocking in at under a minute, uses grainy, saturated imagery and unique perspectives to show off the sneaker’s seamless integration into skate culture.

When asked about the sneakers’ performance, Evan Mock said, “They’re big and bad, like the big bad wolf.”

The Curb sneaker debuted in “Beach Birds,” the Lanvin Men’s Fall/Winter 2020 show, and immediately was hailed for its remarkable runway look and nostalgic inspiration.

“I am interested in creating characters and dressing them for the life I imagine they live,” said Bruno Sialelli, Creative Director of Lanvin. “For the Fall 2020 Collection, I imagined skateboarders as documented by Hugh Holland. Those sneakers were, to me, the most immediate yet relevant pieces to represent and understand those characters in the right way.”
