Les Benjamins Releases Mystic Journey Collection

Les Benjamins takes a trip to Marrakesh for their Spring/Summer 2022 campaign.

Istanbul-based company Les Benjamins released their Moroccan-inspired Spring/Summer 2022 collection last week. The collection draws inspiration from the bright colors and loud patterns found in French painter Jacques Majorelle’s work, and in his namesake gardens in Marrakesh.

“I felt like I needed a mystic journey that is going to make me forget about the here and now, and take me to tomorrow,” says Bunyamin Aydin, creative director for Les Benjamins. “The Majorelle Garden has always mesmerized me and when I took a deeper look into Marrakesh, I really felt the urge to cast my eye there this season.“

Standout pieces from the men’s collection include asymmetrical denim pants, monochromatic yellow and orange outfits, and an electric blue workwear jacket with evil eye decals on the collar. The women’s collection features retro flared pants and more bright jackets, and both collections include pieces with embroidered birds or flowers.

The collection, called “The Mystic Journey,” fuses traditional Eastern patterns and colors with the brand’s classic contemporary streetwear silhouettes and tailoring. It extends the meditative vibes from their silk pre-SS22 collection, which also took inspo from the Majorelle Gardens.

The campaign, shot by legendary photographer Mous Lamrabat, featured Moroccan models bringing the clothes to life in the Moroccan desert.
