For the second posthumous release since his death in November, Marshmello has released the video for his collaboration with Lil Peep, "Spotlight". Clad with dour neons and steely faced characters, the video follows a green-haired babe heartbroken at the sight of her ex-beau with a new arm tucked around his.

Throughout the video, the emphasis on objects is obvious, as forlorn glances are thrown towards swords, picture frames, and dog tags. Director Nik Koeing, who also worked with Peep on the "Awful Things" visual, states, “Relationships have a way of overwhelming the meaning and context of physical items to the point of hijacking them. What once was just a household item might now be something that reminds us of that relationship to a point where it overpowers what that item was traditionally meant for. These objects end up developing a shared significance between those in the relationship.”

After initially being put on hold, Marshmello has released the track at the request of Peep’s mother. The visual is a reflection of a world associated with Peep, an imagery that Marshmello hopes would make him proud. “For this video, I just wanted what Gus would have wanted. And I think this is exactly it," says the DJ. Watch the "Spotlight" video below.
