*Okay you can breathe out. Tha Carter VI is officially on its way!*

Following the wrap up of Drake’s October World Weekend, after postponing it due to a positive COVID-19 test, the rapper summoned Young Money Founder Lil Wayne and the queen bee herself Ms. Nicki Minaj to the forefront for his final show. Unexpectedly so, Tunechi, aka Lil Wayne dropped a teaser during the performance foreshadowing the much anticipated drop of his Tha Carter VI album.

“I’m working on Tha Carter VI, coming soon.”

Upon hearing the announcement, viewers can hear as the audience cries out in excitement over the news. In fact, Drake, who is no stranger it comes to celebrating Lil Wayne, sought out a moment during the reunion to tell the audience that Tunechi was "truly the most selfless man on planet earth" and gave gratitude to the rapper for his influence on his career.

(For those who have been living under a rock) Lil Wayne is responsible for not only founding Young Money Entertainment which helped kick-start the careers of big fish industry titans like Drake, Nicki Minaj, Tyga, Omarion, and DJ.Khaled but for his groundbreaking solo tracks that transpired into some of the greatest ever to hit the industry.

With hit songs like A Milli, Got Money (featuring T-Pain), and Lollipop following his first solo breakthrough album Tha Block Is Hot, the rapper quickly became cited as one of the most influential hip hop artists of his generation (and even became the first man to surpass Elvis Presley with the most hits on the Billboard Hot 100, with 109 songs). He has racked up over five Grammy Awards, 11 BET Awards, four Billboard Music Awards, two MTV Awards, and eight NAACP Image Awards. That being said, this album drop is one that has been keeping fans on their toes since the dawn of Tha Carter V (2018), Tha Carter IV (2011), and Tha Carter III (2008). In the meantime the rapper released Funeral in 2020 which debuted number one on the Billboard 200 list.
