Louis Vuitton Launches New Skate Shoe With Lucien Clarke

The “A View” sneaker comes in three color schemes as part of the Pre-Spring 2021 Men’s Collection by Virgil Abloh.

Louis Vuitton is stepping into new territory with the launch of its new skate shoe, A View, tied to the Pre-Spring ‘21 Men’s collection.

Lucien Clarke wears A View sneaker.

Born out of a collaboration with pro skateboarder Lucien Clarke, the sneaker reminisces on Artistic Director Virgil Abloh’s ties to the community and expands on the functional, laid-back visual language of the pro skate wardrobe. A View is authentic, harkening back to streetwear; it is a statement on Abloh’s consideration of skate culture and streetwear as a cultural pillar, a definition of reliability, reality, and unity.

The new style recalls the technical construction of its ‘90s frontrunners, yet reimagines what a skate shoe could be. Made with technical textile and calf leather with detailed reflective materials, the shoe’s framework features technical foam and polyurethane sole cushioning.

It is created with a skater, for skaters—Lucien Clarke’s role in the design philosophy and adaptability goes hand in hand with Abloh’s vision and expertise. While A View is a contemporary everyday men’s staple, it also enables the spontaneous, allowing the skater to step on a board where and whenever they see fit.

A View comes in three color schemes—black and white with orange details, and blue—with the signature LV monogram marking the tongue and a clean, tight silhouette.
