Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Spring 2021 Collection is For The Gentleman Explorer

With military-grade looks and clean-cut silhouettes, Louis Vuitton’s new collection brings risk-taking to the runway.

Louis Vuitton merges subtle colors, crisp cuts and a  perfectly prim neutral palette in their Pre-Spring 2021 collection, a swift diversion from the bold and loud prints of their Spring/Summer 2021 collection.

Designer Virgil Abloh steered toward the magnetic looks of contemporary ruggedness for this collection, playing with tones of brown, black and white and incorporating naturalistic prints—leaves dotted with the LV monogram, creating a camo effect adorning a shearling jacket and wide-legged trousers.

A military-inspired motif is embedded in the collection, too, apparent not just in the long-line coats but in the sharp silhouettes and accessories with gold-toned hardware, including bags and berets that evoke the urban adventurer.

The LV monogram is especially noticeable in the multicolored watercolor fabrics on hoodies, duffles, mini bags and trousers in the collection—of course, at the intersection of designer and durable stands Louis Vuitton.

Standout pieces of the collection seamlessly merge tailoring and taste, giving an undercurrent of exploration and luxury throughout the collection. The Lucien Clarke sneaker is showcased, a slightly-chunky silhouette offset with neon detailing to add just the right amount of energy and excitement to any fit.

The slightly archaeological/military/Indiana Jones-esque vibe in the new pieces are epitomized by flawless tailoring and a military-grade color palette: a mustard yellow beret with the gold LV hardware monogram on a black band in front, a suave army-green LV monogram puffer vest, a petrol blue two-piece set with pocket embellishments and a full-button-up suit bringing utilitarian motifs into business wear.
