We know we don’t need to remind you how great Lucas Hedges is, but our favorite 21-year-old actor is, well, killing it. Including a cover for our very own VMAN’s The New Vanguard Issue, Hedges was nominated for an Oscar last year for Manchester by the Sea, and starred alongside some powerhouse actors in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Lady Bird.

The VMAN40 cover star sat down with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show to fill us in on not only his latest projects, but his one-line acting debut as a fourth grader in his father’s film, Dan in Real Life, and receiving acting notes from his intimidatingly cool 13-year-old Mid90s costar, Sunny Suljic.

Additionally, they discussed Hedges’ next film and first starring role, Boy Erased , which premieres on November 2nd. The film adapts the true story from the memoir by Garrard Conley, the son of a small-town pastor who gets sent to a gay conversion therapy program. The interview wrapped up with a mention of StopErasing.com, a companion website to the film that provides resources for struggling members of the LGBTQ community.
