When Maison Kitsuné’s totem fox is wearing a colorful rainbow, we know one thing: Pride Month is here. It’s Maison Kitsuné’s way to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community with “Pride”, a new collection of gender-neutral pieces proudly displaying the rainbow flag. Beyond that, the brand is collaborating with The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQIA+ young people. Until 31 July 2021, 15% of the net sales of the collection will be donated directly to The Trevor Project.

The central concept of the collection’s design is to ensure that all LGBTQIA+ young people feel accepted, supported, and loved. That’s why the totem fox is now wearing the special 8-color rainbow: in addition to the regular one, black and brown are added to represent the rich diversity and range of identities within the LGBTQIA+ community. 

In this collection, among three variations of the logo, the specially designed logo is the most playful one – the fox silhouette skips with pride on a series of t-shirts, hoodies, caps, and cotton tote bags. With these wardrobe essentials as a canvas, the animal is sometimes duplicated to form a couple, whose image blends into a color gradient.

While empowering and reflecting the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community, this collection is also embodied by three personas who provide an educational perspective on LGBTQIA+ issues: activist Dani Coyle, model Yassin Chekkouh, and pastry chef Victoire Christine.

Party-goers, Maison Kitsuné got you. To celebrate Pride Month, Maison Kitsuné is hosting a ‘Pride’ party in NYC at Short Stories featuring sets by NYC-based DJs Matthew Mazur, Lauren Flax and Oscar Nñ, along with special performances by NYC drag queens Nicky Ottav and Blake Deadly. Rendez-vous on June 22 2021 from 6 pm to 9 pm. Let’s have fun in Pride Month!
