Today, Marc Jacobs launches the second generation of its hybrid smartwatch series, which introduced a new touchscreen feature. True to its name, the watch combines a high fashion silhouette with Silicon Valley innovation. Powered by both Google and Qualcomm technology, the new watch’s customizable, widget-packed touchable interface—set within a classic gold frame—allows you to wear blue-chip OS on your sleeve—without clashing with it.

In addition to new design accents like gold and rose gold cases and silver and white silicone straps, the drop ushers in a suite of Google technology, from apps to a voice-activated “Hey Google” assistant. It also supports wireless charging, exercise monitoring and calls and texts.

And while it may have many of the trappings of today’s saturated wearables market, the watches also look back to iconic Marc Jacobs trademarks; one touchscreen background option is his classic “Daisy” motif.

The tech-meets-design hybrid is a fitting emblem for Jacobs’s own evolution as a designer; in the mid-aughts, he was notorious for starting his fashion shows late—only to later become obsessed with punctuality. But if you’re anything like the old Marc, this sleek talking gadget may be just the thing to make you fashionably early to your next event.
