Danish designer Martin Asbjørn has just released his SS22 collection inspired by London's Green Lanes area of Little Istanbul where the urban and poetic clash as well as celebrating all of the different cultures that make up the community.

The collection primarily has a predominately neutral color palette consisting of ivory, pumice stone, and taxi-cab grey as well as touches of burgundy, Byzantine blue, and saffron. Vintage ottoman-style stripes are reworked with a baggy silhouette and flared trousers and shorts and a heavy viscose blend creates a relaxed yet elegant look.

The collection has a large focus on sportswear with an old school, retro vibe with cropped zip cardigans in spotty jersey and knitted grandad tank tops and color blocking trousers and sweatshirts.

Martin Asbjørn's trademark leather is center stage with dark brown and strong blue lambskin jeans, cargo pants, and a utility waistcoat. He's also created night looks with sheer or lace tops that evoke the glam of Little Istanbul while pajama details are more lounge focused.

Standouts from the collection include the color blocking trousers and sweatshirt with blocks of neutral beige, orange, and blue-purple that make the sportswear look also look street and elevated. Another standout of the collection is probably the brightest piece in the collection with a burgundy, yellow, and blue patterned button down and brown leather pants.

Martin Asbjørn’s Spring/Summer 2022 collection is subtle yet a standout by creating clothing that is elevated yet sexy while somewhat androgynous and expressive.
