The worlds of luxury style and Formula 1 certainly aren’t strangers, and this weekend, the two united at the podium for the weekend’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, where the world’s most popular and prestigious racing event partnered with Louis Vuitton. To commemorate the Sin City win, the luxury house designed a customized trunk for this year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix trophy.
Continuing his successful streak this season, Max Verstappen secured the number one spot during the weekend’s race, representing Red Bull. The Dutch driver is one of the best-known athletes in racing, having celebrated four Formula One World Drivers’ Championship titles.

In the spirit of Formula 1 wins, Verstappen was seen on the podium popping champagne to celebrate while accepting his award. The trunk, showcasing and protecting the award, is designed with a signature graphic: a bold “V” is displayed with checkered racing flag details.
While luggage is embedded in the origin story of the brand’s heritage, in more recent years, Louis Vuitton has partnered with global sports leagues like the FIFA World Cup, the NBA, and the Olympic Games in Paris. Time will tell where the brand’s embossed luggage will appear next—and to whom it will be presented.
