Men’s Makeup Arrives at CVS

CVS will now sell Stryx products, a men’s cosmetic brand.

Men’s makeup will now be lining the shelves at hundreds of CVS stores across the country.

Stryx, a recently launched men’s cosmetic brand, is entering CVS stores as men across the United States are becoming increasingly open to the idea of wearing makeup. In fact, one third of young men would consider applying and wearing cosmetic products, according to a study published by Morning Consult.

Stryx has three main products targeted for men’s buying and wearing. These products include a concealer tool, tinted moisturizer, and gel cleanser. Each individual product ranges from $11.99 to  $24.99. All Stryx products are designed to work with every skin color and are almost sweat proof. As men’s skin is typically oilier, rougher and thicker than women’s skin, Stryx says its products are “magically adaptable” to any male skin type.

The CVS announcement comes almost a week after the largest pharmaceutical brand in the United States launched Live Better, an affordable wellness brand. The recently launched line includes a multitude of organic products, many which are plant based. Daily vitamins, herbal supplements and even specially designed products such as elderberry and tea tree oil drops are available for purchase.

As the stigma associated with cosmetic products disappears, a number of cosmetic brands are now selling products specifically marketed and made for men. Most famous is Chanel’s Boy de Chanel line launched in 2018. Last year, Dior added a number of products to its  Dior Homme Dermo System which aims to provide men with a balancing skincare system.
