MSGM Matches Fun and Functional for Fall/Winter 2021

Take cover! The brights are blowing in.

What opens as an eerie winter night, as flurries dance playfully on a snow-bound path, transcends into a wild and energetic representation of tasteful nods to ‘80s neons, lilacs, and retro patterns packaged in fully functional fashion.

As uptempo beats accompany the film by Lorenzo Gironi titled “VERTIGINE”(meaning Vertigo in Italian), models trek through the snowstorm, donning creative director Massimo Giorgetti’s Fall Winter 2021 collection.

To be worn for a soiree or aprés ski, ensembles were abounded with ski jackets, destructed knit jumpers and denim, paired with relaxed trousers, vintage-like t-shirts, and fleeces. Soothing lilac and energetic hot pinks added vibrancy to what would normally encompass a typical fall color range.

Bucket hats and beanies made the cut, yet again for Fall 2021, as the staple accessory in tandem with cross-body bags, snow gloves, knee-high socks, and rubber boots.

As the collection proved to be universal, neon and pattered jackets were paired with accompanying shorts. Whilst plaid and houndstooth also made their debut, as a welcomed balance between the bright pops of jewel-tones and neon zaps. Layering was optimal among the majority of each look, seizing the need for convenience, without hindering style, remained integral.
