It had been a minute - seven years to be exact - since the world had heard from N*E*R*D, the hip-hop collective made up of music superstars Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Shay Haley, until yesterday, when they dropped their stellar single "Lemon" featuring Rihanna. The boys behind the musical magic are back in full force, and even have an athleisure line to prove it.
As the trio released the new track, they also introduced a "Training Gear" collaboration with Adidas for their Fall/Winter 2017 line. Set to be released online and in Adidas' flagship locations next week on Nov. 6, the entire collection features a total of 88 new pieces of apparel and accessories for both men and women.
In brillant colors and inventive camouflage prints, "Training Gear" is N*E*R*D-visualized and a totally lively collection — and rightfully so, given that Williams himself is a bit of a fashion entrepreneur. With a range of distinctly cut hoodies, t-shirts, backpacks, and pants styled in a variety fits, the group conceptualized a vibrant yet familiar set for the major sportswear brand. Most notably, the camouflage detailing the pieces was designed by Korean artist Buzcha. J to symbolize N*E*R*D's personal movement advocating for the connection of all people, seen through the colorful iterations of the stand-out print, just as its represented sonically in their bright music.
Get a preview of the N*E*R*D and Adidas collaboration below before the apparel is officially available on Monday, November 6.
