Netflix Teases New Trailer For Kanye West Documentary ”JEEN-YUHS”
A trilogy with over 21 years in the making.

“Step inside the world of Kanye West.” Netflix has finally released the trailer for the highly anticipated Kanye West documentary, JEEN-YUHS. Back in August of 2021, it was rumored that the streaming service purchased the multi-part project from TIME Studios, Clarence “Coodie” Simmons and Chike Ozah–the two visionary filmmakers behind the documentary’s early clips. The documentary, which was filmed over the course of 21 years, is set to be released over a three-week period as a trilogy, with each episode focusing on a different aspect of the rapper’s career.

The 1-minute trailer first gives viewers a glimpse of West’s early years, and later shows him at performances and listening parties. However, part one of the trilogy will be primarily based around the start of West’s career and vintage footage, which was also around the time he was involved in a nearly-fatal car accident in 2002. Referring back to the incident, West, who now goes under the name of Ye, states at the end of the trailer, “It was like God saying “I’m about to hand you the world, just know at any given time I could take it away from you.”
The news of the documentary comes around the time of Ye’s collaboration with Gap and Balenciaga Creative Director Demna, in addition to his relationship with Uncut Gems actress Julia Fox. In an op-ed with Interview, Fox confirmed her relationship with the rapper, detailing how their romance began.
Part one of JEEN-YUHS will be released on February 16th. Watch the trailer below.
