What is your stance on the current state of affairs in the US regarding the BLM movement, protests and police brutality?

I love the idea of the BLM movement that already has existed for some years now. Looking back at American history, many movements against racism and for equal human rights were destroyed and their leaders were killed. But the BLM movement cannot be stopped by any bullets whatsoever.

Are you taking part in the movement? If so, how?

As a Black male, I feel like I’ve always been and will always be part of this movement. We always denounce episodes of racism and inequality, donate, inform and educate people around us because racism is nothing but ignorance. BLM is international and not only includes the US.

What I wish we had learned from past events is that we’ve got to get involved in this movement not only when the worst happens. We have to continuously denounce and, for some, use privilege to take action against this and make this even bigger.

How did the onset of this year’s public health crisis change your outlook on life and/or work?

I don’t think this year’s public health crisis really changed my outlook on life. However, it has definitely brought and likely will bring changes work-wise, for the industry I’m in and for many others around the world.

What are your goals for 2020?

My goals for 2020 are to be healthier and just enjoy life and experience as much as I can.

What have you been reading or watching while in quarantine?

During this time in isolation, I’ve been reading and listening to a lot of Alain de Botton’s work — his books emphasize philosophy’s relevance to everyday life and discuss contemporary subjects and themes. In terms of viewing material, I’ve been watching various documentaries on Netflix as usual, and also rediscovered and enjoyed Modern Family.

What have you learned while in solitude?

I’ve learned practicing yoga, which I now practice before having my daily bodyweight workouts. It helps a lot with deep stretching.

What’s the first thing you’re going to do after coming out of quarantine?

The actual first thing I think I will do is go see my barber!
