Thus far, the upcoming Twin Peaks revival series has been shrouded in a Lynchian aura of secrecy, with fans knowing precious little beyond casting. At last, Showtime has debuted two new teasers trailers, and… we still know nothing for certain.

Nonetheless, the teasers reintroduce the mystery of Laura Palmer’s murder. Both feature footage from the original series, which lasted from 1990 to 1991, alongside new clips, brought together by an ominous title card: “It’s happening again.”

The first teaser, titled “Mirror,” is fairly straightforward. It opens with one of the final scenes from the original series—of Agent Dale Cooper seeing Killer Bob as his reflection in the mirror—and then a new clip of an older, wizened-looking Cooper.

The next teaser, titled “Body,” has fans in a speculative frenzy. It flashes the unwrapping of Laura Palmer’s body and then, in modern day, cuts to her yearbook portrait. Showtime uploaded the clip to Facebook with the caption “Look closely,” prompting Redditers to claim Laura can be seen closing her eyes during the fade-in (Full disclosure: I didn’t see anything).

Others say her portrait appears to be affixed to either an FBI case folder or an evidence board, hinting that her case may have been reopened.
