#NowTrending: Jacquemus’ Supermodel Spectacle

It’s Model Mania at Jacquemus’ epic Autumn/Winter 2020 show, making its debut last night.

It was a supermodel showdown at Jacquemus’ Autumn/Winter 2020 show with Simon Porte Jacquemus going co-ed with this year’s fall collection, displaying a mix of women and men’s ensembles in the epic show that debuted last night. The captivating event took place at La Défense Arena, as the colossal stadium was staged with a minimalistic yet striking design: an all-white set with no background, no props, no-nonsense. Many of V’s illustrious model alumni dominated the catwalk, bringing the visions of the french designer to life. Gigi & Bella Hadid, Grace Elizabeth, Olivia Vinten, Vittoria Ceretti, Laetitia Casta, Sora Choi, Mica Argañaraz, Liu Wen, Kyla Ramsey, Joan Smalls, Lineasy Montero, Parker Van Noord, Jarrod Scott, Doutzen Kroes, Abby Champion, and Cara Taylor all took the minimal stage by storm, delivering one dazzling look after another.

Bringing a breath of fresh air to the fall/winter catwalks, Jacquemus showcased a color story for the collection in soft hues of taupes and creams with little to no dark colors (around 7 looks featured a faded-navy) and was peppered with pops of a fluorescent fuschia and enchanting lavender (possibly a nod to his previous 10th-anniversary collection which took the internet by storm and gained the french label more than 1.8 million more Instagram followers). Construction of the garments were all quite structured yet not too form-fitting and nor boxy, using distinctive shapes in fabrics that were draped on the body. Jacquemus yet again delivers an unforgettable collection, bringing that joie de vivre spirit that lives within him to the masses.
