OMEGA Ticks Forward With Evolved Speedmaster 38mm Collection

The Swiss watchmaker continues shaping the industry with a sparkling extension of their 38mm watch line
Inspired by the many codes found in OMEGA’s legendary Moonwatch, the watchmaker has expanded its 38mm watch line, adding seven new interpretations to its illustrious catalogue. Each new design adds a refined feature to the line, as well as a refreshed color palette, bringing each piece closer and closer to it’s original reference.
The new models vary starkly in material construction. From gold links to bezels set in diamonds, OMEGA’s latest showcase offers a sparkling diversity. Within the steel-on-steel selection, silver, white, and black-dialed pieces, with the black most closely resembling the original Moonwatch, and the white and silver sporting colorfully varnished dials.

Within the line are two additional bicolor models, one a silvery opaline tone, and the other an ivory “cappuccino.” The silver model features a stainless steel casing and an 18K Moonshine Gold bezel. For the ivory-toned piece, OMEGA also employed a gold bezel as well as a gold-linked bracelet. In the line’s top tier sit two diamond-encrusted pieces. Each bezel is encrusted with 52 diamonds, with one sporting an ice blue dial and the other polished with mother-of-pearl purity. Beyond the new palette and material construction, the watchmaker has employed new technology in their latest work. Straying from the Speedmaster’s previously oval subdials, the new collection features rounded subdials. The content on the dials has also been heavily pulled back, making the appearance of the dials more minimal and, thus, sporty.
“The Speedmaster 38 mm has always taken its cues from the Moonwatch, while keeping size, colour, and simplicity in mind,” says Raynald Aeschlimann, President and CEO of OMEGA in a statement. “With this latest update, we’ve taken the Moonwatch inspiration even further, helping to enrich the Speedmaster DNA while still retaining the refined and unique nature that the 38 mm range is known for.”
