This evening OMEGA launched their new watch. To celebrate they held an intimate dinner featuring celebrities like Riverdale actor Rob Raco, Olympic Swimmer Alex Di Gorgio, American model Alton Mason, Olympic gold medalist Dalilah Muhammad, and Spanish model Xavier Serrano. Each notable wore different OMEGA watches which they modeled for the event.

The new watch is known as the Chronoscope, a combination of the greek words “chronos” and “scope” meaning time and to observe respectively.

Along with typical watch functions, the Chronoscope features three different dials: the tachymeter determines speed based on distance, the telemeter looks at distance based on the speed of sound, and the pulsometer measures the heartbeat of the wearer. These additions make the new Chronoscope more than just a watch.

Made with polished-brushed stainless steel, this 43 mm watch comes in varieties that feature combination of blue and silver dials and hands. It can also be found with silver dials and black subdials with black hands in a “Panda” style that OMEGA is known for. For those looking for a little more flash, the Chronoscope can also be purchased in bronze gold for a little extra flare.

The design of the watch is based on past iterations of OMEGA watches. It takes inspiration from the wristwatches of the 1920s and features a detailed “snail” design. It also displays Arabic numerals for the dials, over a “spiral” track pattern.

Along with the design calling back the 20th century, the Chronoscope is a manual windup watch. To improve power it includes twin barrels and anti-wear Diamond-Like-Carbon coating.

Chronoscopes come with leather straps in blue, black, or brown with metal detailing emblazoned with the greek character for omega. There is also an alternative metal strap that comes in polished-brushed steel.
