OMEGA Watches Welcomes Olympian Caeleb Dressel as an Ambassador
Olympian Swimmer Caeleb Dressel joins OMEGA’s star-studded Ambassador team.
Olympic gold-medalist and championship swimmer Caeleb Dressel is becoming an OMEGA Ambassador after winning five gold medals this year at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Claiming gold in the Men’s 100m Butterfly, Men’s 100m Freestyle, Men’s 50m Freestyle, Men’s 4x100m Medley and Men’s 4×100 Freestyle, Dressel is the fifth Olympian to win at least five gold medals in one Olympic Games.
Joining a roster of stellar swimmers as well as former-Olympians, Dressel is joining the ambassador team made up of South African champion Chad le Clos, Swiss swimmer Jérémy Desplanches and the legendary Michael Phelps.
“It’s very humbling, it’s a great brand, and precision timing is so important,” Dressel said about joining the OMEGA team. “One hundredth of a second makes a big difference to your results.”
The luxury Swiss watch brand guided the Olympian through a showcase of timekeeping technology in Tokyo, where he was even able to try watchmaking himself, and wore an OMEGA’s Seamaster Co‐Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph Diver 300M in steel and 18K yellow gold, with a blue ceramic dial and bezel. Of course, the NATO band on the watch was equipped in red, white and blue.
“I got it in Hawaii,” said Dressel. “I don’t usually choose navy blue, but this watch kind of screamed at me. I had to have it – and I really like gold”.
With a warm welcome to the OMEGA family and a few gold medals tucked under his belt, Caeleb Dressel’s 2020 Olympics will be one to talk about time after time.
