Pangaia Celebrates United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals

Pangaia will debut a capsule collection later this month in collaboration with the UN.

Pangaia plans to launch a limited-edition capsule collection later this month in celebration of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The collection will include a hoodie and shirt made from recycled cotton that imprint the SDG’s colorful seventeen goal endeavor which include eradicating poverty, hunger and taking action to slow climate change around the world.

“At Pangaia, we make choices that go beyond reducing our impact, to create regenerative value that protects and revives life on earth for future generations,” Pangaia said. “We operate from the understanding that we’re far from perfect, so this is a renewed push and commitment to creating a more responsible planet.”

Pangaia said their sustainable approach to producing clothing is influenced by the UN’s goals. Items produced by Pangaia, including those in the upcoming capsule collection, were made with environmentally friendly dyes and water based inks.

The brand has a long history of helping to preserve ecosystems and restore climate equality around the world. Most recently, Pangaia launched a new project in planting mangrove trees. For every product sold, the company promises to plant one mangrove tree. Pangaia says the trees store “approximately one ton of CO2” and create “critical habitat for marine life.”

Launched in 2015, SDG was passed by all members of the UN’s recognized states. By 2030, the global initiative wants to improve health and education, reduce inequality and generate economic growth around the world.

Pangaia’s lightweight recycled cotton hoodie will be available for $150 USD and the organic cotton t-shirt will sell for $55 USD. The capsule collection will officially launch online September 30th.
