Musician and producer Pharrell made history this week as the first man to ever star in a Chanel bag campaign.

The fashion house used Pharrell in their latest campaign for their new Gabrielle bag. Chanel announced the partnership with Pharrell in March after the musician walked for the label during their Métiers d’Art runway show last December. The campaign sees the artist dancing around an empty warehouse donning head-to-toe Chanel gear and sporting the cross-body Gabrielle bag.

Chanel's decision to use the musician in the campaign is a step in the right directions towards inclusivity and gender fluidity in fashion as it shows that both men and women can rock bags and look equally as stylish. On his decision to cast Pharrell, Karl Lagerfeld said that the Gabrielle bag can be worn in "many different circumstances" to which he concluded, "and why not by a man?" The campaign also stars V107 cover star Cara Delevingne and actress Kristen Stewart.
