When you mix the king of collaboration, an ascendant pop diva, and a splash of sangria wine, it turns out you get the next contender for song of the summer. “Sangria Wine,” a new concoction by Pharrell Williams and Camila Cabello, blends thumbing beats and sultry vocals for a down-tempo banger that’s sure to transport you to a smoke-filled Havana club. Though a clear sequel to Cabello’s breakout hit “Havana,” which was also co-written by Williams, “Sangria Wine” marks the first time that the duo has shared billing on a track.

The collaboration is the latest indicator that Cabello is next in line to become princess of pop; Williams has had a midas touch for almost two decades, both as one of the most prolific featured artists of the early 2000s, collaborating with everyone from Britney Spears to Snoop Dogg, and as a two-time titleholder for song of the summer with later hits like “Happy” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.”

Williams’s timeless appeal was first profiled by V in the Winter 2003 issue. While the fashions may have changed, the chemistry on display proves that—much like a fine wine— Williams will always make a great pairing.
