Polaroid Introduces the World’s Smallest Analog Instant Camera

Polaroid Go is a portable, wearable creative companion.

Polaroid is always at the forefront of innovation in analog photography, and Polaroid Go continues this legacy with the brand’s smallest camera yet. At just 4.1 inch long, 3.3 inch wide, and 2.4 inch tall, this camera is compact and travel-friendly without sacrificing the quality associated with Polaroid’s signature square photographs. The camera uses the new Go film, which reproduces this quality and artistry on a smaller scale. Other new features include a selfie mirror, self-timer, double exposure, and more. Chief Design Officer Ignacio Germade explained, “We spent years designing the Polaroid Go camera from the inside out. The camera’s internal components are arranged like a three-dimensional Tetris, using a careful composition to achieve a simple and effortless exterior and deliver the smallest size instant analog camera possible. Bringing product design back in a serious way to Polaroid is a labor of love and the team is super proud of this new iconic form factor.”

The creator-driven launch campaign features creative director and designer Quinn Whitney Wilson, known for her work with Lizzo, and Arlo Parks, an influential London-based musician. Creatives use the Polaroid Go to document their processes and day-to-day lives, showing the camera’s versatility and playful function as well as its remarkable ability to capture artistry in action. Their stories inspire other artists to “Go create” with the new camera. CEO Oskar Smolokowski says, “Over the past year, we’ve seen the need for imagination and exploration as we’ve all tackled some of the hardest moments of our lives. Creativity is the fuel we all need to reimagine a world worth fighting for. The voices of the Go create concept to paint a defiant view of the future—one that is inspired by change, digs into the unfinished pieces of art, and invites community to come alongside the creative process.”

In a digitally-driven world, many of us are craving a return to the analog, but clunkier cameras are simply more difficult to carry around than our smartphones. The Polaroid Go rectifies that issue, allowing for spontaneous creation that’s not immediately Instagrammable. Some of the coolest young creatives have already taken to the new design, and it’s available for preorder here.
