Without the art of storytelling, there would be no Hollywood. From script to screen, actors are responsible for guiding an audience through a powerful narrative, using their bodies and actions to bring a story to life. To honor these storytellers, David Sims photographs three world-famous talents: Jeff Goldblum, Damson Idris, and Rami Malek. 

Prada’s goal was to offer a fresh perspective on these actors, shedding light on the fact that they are more than just their roles; they are complex individuals who exist in a world beyond the camera. Goldblum, Idris, and Malek are photographed in intimate portraits, alongside a series of still-life images. These objects are paradoxes infused with private memories and meaning to each of these actors, a key to uncovering parts of themselves that the audience doesn’t usually see. 

Here the actors play themselves, giving us a sneak peek into their own narrative. Jeff Goldblum, who has been acting since the 1970s, is photographed wearing a long fur-trimmed coat, alongside a teddy bear. Goldblum has starred in films such as The Fly (1986), Jurassic Park (1993), Independence Day (1996), and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014). 

British Nigerian actor Damson Idris wears a sleek tailored trench, posing next to a balloon with a spider web on it. Known for his role in the FX crime show Snowfall, Idris has quickly risen to fame and starred in a number of award-winning films and dramas. 

Oscar, Emmy, and Sag-winning actor Rami Malek in a slouched blazer and trousers is pictured alongside a still of a burning birthday candle. His ability to entirely inhabit his emotionally complex characters is seen in his role as Elliot in the TV series Mr. Robot, as well as his portrayal of the beloved Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody. This collection of ambiguous still-life portraits leaves us wondering what significance these objects hold to each actor, and what stories are left to be told. 

The men’s ready-to-wear collection includes bomber jackets, parkas, and leather trench coats with fur trims and cinched waistlines to elevate the uniform.
