Lust For Youth, a Copenhagen-based trio, gave VMAN an exclusive look at the new music video for their song “Sudden Ambitions,” off their forthcoming LP Compassion, out March 18th. The post-punk band’s film, directed by Frederik Valentin, combines a home video aesthetic with discordant scenes that create an unshakable discomfort. The video sees the mundane happenings of a hometown, specifically the director's: "Everything was filmed in our local neighborhood, Amager, Copenhagen. It’s a quiet place, no fancy cafes or shops—near the airport, but far away from the world," says Valentin.

The imagery above captures part of what the band says is the focus of their forthcoming album. "Compassion restates beauty for a time of crisis and clickbait. Judgement, design, form, and opinion: to what end will we refine our world if we can’t also make an anthem of our lives?" Here, we see the unease, the mindlessness of flashing lights, the projected images that consume us, and the hoverboards that drive us around in circles, leading us right back to where we started.
