The French record producer and owner of management agency SDW Records and SDW Management recently spoke about ‘Outsiders’ – his innovative Instagram project to find new talent. With ‘Outsiders,’ Boss plans to discover contemporary artists and offer them the power to control how their music is heard. “We are about to create one of the best tools for finding new talent based on Instagram freestyle contests with immense rewards called ‘Outsiders’,” Boss shares enthusiastically.

Jimmy shares that the days of artists self-recording tapes and posting them to managers and record labels are gone. New talent is now flourishing out in full view on the web, with artists sharing their music on social sites like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Follow tags and trends on these sites, and you will find the talent you are looking for! 

Look Local 

Street musicians are often nourishing an unseen talent that just needs to be discovered to blossom, states Jimmy. This might seem strange considering the web opens up the globe if you’re looking for talent. But just because the internet offers a view to independent artists all over the world, this doesn’t mean you should discount those outside your front door. 

Look Live 

This little tip dovetails nicely with keeping your eyes open for local talent. If the local band that you have heard great word-of-mouth about has a live show, go to it! Visiting shows of small independent artists gives you a fantastic insight into their style and audience base, just by seeing who has come out to support them, concludes Boss.
