In honor of their Men’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, Christian Louboutin hosted a presentation of the collection, followed by a party. The collection was presented on Friday, Jan. 20  at La Gaîté Lyrique, a cultural establishment in Paris. 

The collection offers a dramatic take on glam rock, while maintaining its contemporary relevance. The look of the moment? Heeled styles for men. The 3-inch Aiglissima boot showcases a pointed rock’n’roll toe, with a couture iteration coated in glittering black rhinestones. Louboutin’s new Aigle line aims to revamp any look, adding height and style with each pair. The Rosalio boot boasts traditional craftsmanship and flair inspired by the Flamencos of Spain. The Aiglon loafers present a distinct “CL” emblazoned heel and unmistakable geometric lines. This capsule collection of rock’n’roll inspired boots and loafers pushes the boundaries of expression to produce looks that exist beyond the binary. 

The party, which was hosted in partnership with i-D, offered an immersive experience for guests, as well as a live performance by Walt Disco, a band known for their defiance of the conventional, as well as performances by DJs Bambounou and Hank K. The venue itself was separated into three distinct areas; one for presenting the products, one full of projections of Walt Disco wearing the campaign and one highlighting the fusion between glam rock identity and the Christian Louboutin brand. 

What defines this collection then? Is it the glam rock atmosphere? The projections tinged by red lights and the hanging disco balls? In a way – sure. But the true definition lies in the shoes themselves. The rockstar-toed boots, the emblazoned heels, the glitz and glam of the rhinestones. Those details are what truly define Christian Louboutin’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
