When it came to craftsmanship, creative director Sarah Burton pulled out all the stops for Alexander McQueen's spring 2019 menswear line.

Unveiled on Friday, Burton allowed her impeccably tailored outerwear to be the standout, heart of the collection. Sharp-shouldered suiting, brightly-colored leathers, and abstract interpretations of the classic trench rode in tandem, the silhouette of each so flawless that every outfit may has well have been custom-made for its respective model.

Yet there was more to McQueen SS19 than a really, really great range of jackets. Paint splotches (both on clothing and the torsos of shirtless men), grungy knits, and Burton's signature intricate embroidery tied the collection together, the icing on a classically beautiful menswear cake. With stoic expressions and hair effortlessly slicked back, the models looked ready to take on a 9 to 5 and a night at the Soho House all in the same look, with the exception of the shirtless painted men.
