Stan Lee Tribute Coming to ABC

ABC have announced a Primetime special to celebrate Marvel’s Stan Lee

A Stan Lee tribute is coming to ABC this December. The Primetime special will feature, interviews with stars from the Marvel universe sharing memories and anecdotes, as well as archival interviews and rare footage of the man himself. With a career spanning nearly 80 years, Lee is the creative behind some of the most iconic superheroes of all time. During his time at Marvel Lee created Spider-Man, Iron Man, The X-Men, Black Panther, and the Fantastic Four, to name just a few.

The one-hour special, hosted by Clark Gregg will explore the life and creations of the Lee, who arguably is the most influential person from the comic book/entertainment industry. The comic book worlds Lee has created have now become billion-dollar franchises and are loved worldwide by millions. The ABC special, which was in part filmed live in front of a studio audience will also feature celeb fans, collaborators and industry experts who pay tribute to Lee. This list includes Tom Hiddleston, Seth Green, Deborah Ann Woll, Gerry Conway, and Disney CEO Bob Iger.

“As a young man, Stan ‘The Man’ Lee always dreamed of writing, going on to create some of the greatest heroes of our modern times,” Joe Quesada, Executive Vice President, Creative Director of Marvel Entertainment, said in a statement. “Stan showed each of us how to be a hero in our everyday lives, and the stories he wrote will go on to influence generations of fans for decades to come. We can’t wait for all you True Believers out there to see this special to honor and celebrate Stan’s incredible life and all the lives he has touched.”

ABC’s Stan Lee tribute will air on ABC on December 20, 8 p.m. ET.
