Last night’s Super Bowl 2022 halftime show will never be forgotten. With a star-studded lineup of Hip Hop legends, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent took center stage to perform some of their greatest hits and give viewers throwback nostalgia.

Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg made a grand entrance on the adjoined house-like arrangement stage with their rendition of the duo’s The Next Episode as the crowd cheered. They transitioned to California Love, paying homage to the late Tupac Shakur, who dominated the 1990s Hip Hop scene and has since gone down in history as one of the most impactful and best-selling artists of all time. 50 Cent then made a surprise appearance at first hanging upside down and performed In Da Club, referencing the smash hit song’s music video. The Queen of Hip Hop and Soul Mary J. Blige brought all the vocals during her dazzling set, performing the iconic Family Affair and No More Drama.

Kendrick Lamar showed out in a continued riveting production with M.a.a.D City and Alright, while steppers surrounded him, wearing ‘Dre Day’ sashes. Eminem’s groundbreaking set started with an interlude of Forgot About Dre followed by Lose Yourself. Anderson .Paak made his surprise presence known during the song’s drum set. Eminem closed out his performance taking a knee as Dr. Dre played the piano. This gesture was a seeming ode to activist and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who made headlines and became the center of criticism in 2016 for taking a knee throughout the national anthem to protest racial injustice, discrimination, and police brutality against Black individuals. 

All came together and rounded out the show to perform Still Dre.
