Supreme Pays Respect to the Late Daniel Johnston in New Tribute Collection

Available to shop on May 14.

Supreme is honoring the late Daniel Johnston is its latest addition to the brand’s extensive Spring/Summer 2020 collection. The Texas-bred musician and artist, who died in September 2019, was an archetype for sublime musical and visual artwork, all of which took influence from schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

The capsule features original creations by Johnston and pays homage to some of the artist’s most legendary works. A pair of long-sleeve plaid shirts, work pants, t-shirts and beanies showcase Jeremiah the Innocent, the iconic frog that appears on the album cover of his 1983 album Hi How Are You. The collection also remembers Johnston’s contributions outside of art, including his comic Space Ducks — An Infinite Comic Book of Music Greatness, which appears on hoodies and t-shirts. Statement, embroidered jackets and tribute, rayon shirts complete the capsule, exhibiting more complex graphics to celebrate the life of Johnston.

Supreme’s Daniel Johnston Spring/Summer 2020 capsule will be released on the streetwear label’s webstore on May 14. In the meantime, take a look at the full collection, below.
